Removal
A Blue Ridge medical waste trained technician will enter your facility, inspect your regulated medical waste boxes and sharps containers. BRE’s technician will also apply the necessary labels to bring you into compliance. They will scan, document and remove all of your SHARPS and regulated medical waste containers. The technician will issue you a manifest/ receipt.
Medical Waste Documentation Forms
BRE’s documentation known as manifests meet all City, County, and Tennessee State guidelines for proper documentation of Waste Processing. Each manifest is generated onsite from data collected at the site of the waste pickup by the vehicle driver. From pick up to destruction and all points in between, the waste is tracked, labeled and identified. A complete manifest is maintained of each item and is reflected in the destruction reports generated upon destruction of the waste for final documentation of disposal and traceability.
As a valued customer, you will have access to a password protected online Customer Portal where you will have access to review your manifest, current schedule for pick-ups, and billing.

Emergency Service
Blue Ridge provides a 24-hour emergency service. If Emergency Pick up is needed after hours, each customer will have access to an emergency number & a Blue Ridge representative will immediately respond to your needs.

Simple Process- We provide you with the container. You fill the container at your own pace. You contact one of BRE representatives to schedule a pick up. BRE comes to your location to pick up the waste and issue you a manifest/receipt. The pharmaceuticals are destroyed and you receive a Document of Destruction.

Medical Waste & Pharmaceutical Storage Options
Blue Ridge offers a variety of container options to fit many customer’s needs. From generator to disposal, Blue Ridge can safely handle your facility waste needs. All Blue Ridge’s services meet or exceed regulatory standards. The following is an overview of the options available.
Corrugated (Cardboard) Box
Corrugated box service is ideal for the small quantity generator or a larger facility with storage space. Located on each box is printed a certificate listing construction requirements certifying that our box is designed to meet state and federal tests for rigidity and strength. The Department of Transportation approves Blue Ridge’s corrugated boxes. Corrugated box service features:
- 30-gallon Dimension 17-5/8 x 17-5/8 x 22-3/4 INCHES
- Each box contains tuck down corners
- D.O.T. Approved
- Reusable lids for boxes are available and can be purchased at request of client
- The Blue Ridge representative will deliver boxes upon signing of service agreement, or deliver at a later date by the BRE driver.
- A pick-up schedule will be determined between BRE and the Client service needs.
- Pick-up schedule changes by either party need to be made a full schedule pick up in advance.
- Driver will close and tape each box(s) prior to transportation
- Driver will then set up new box(s) with new red bag liner
- Once collected the driver will issue a manifest/receipt upon pick up of waste
Reusable Containers
Blue Ridge uses Reusable Plastic containers. The following are features are detailed below.
- 1. 28 Gallon Dimension 19” x 19” x 21”
- 2. Each container includes a lid
- 3. Easy to maneuver and stackable when space is limited
- 4. D.O.T. Approved
- Blue Ridge will supply the client with an adequate number of containers to accommodate their waste stream needs between pick-ups.
- Driver will show up onsite and exchange each plastic bag from the container into one of the corrugated boxes
- Once collected the Driver will provide manifest/receipt upon pick-up of waste.
Outside Storage Containers
Blue Ridge offers outside storage containers for generators with limited indoor storage capacity. Each container is lockable to prevent unauthorized access and sealed to prevent leakage and to protect stored containers from weather and vermin.
